OCYC Grand Opening! We would like to thank all of those people
that helped make our Grand Opening a great success. On June 14, 2007, we cut the
ribbon in front of our doors--in front of over 300 in attendance. That day,
volunteers from True North Student Assistance and Treatment, as well as Lewis County
Social Services signed up just under 200--5th to 12th grade students as members of the
OCYC. We gave away about 300 hamburgers and 250 hot dogs, 20 cases of soda and ten
cases of water, as well as about 600 cases of chips. The Lewis County Sheriff's
office Volunteers gave away over 50 "Chip" kits--which is a kit designed to help
parents looking for lost or abducted children, as well as other uses.
