OCYC Grand Opening!

We would like to thank all of those people that helped make our Grand Opening a great success.  On June 14, 2007, we cut the ribbon in front of our doors--in front of over 300 in attendance.  That day, volunteers from True North Student Assistance and Treatment, as well as Lewis County Social Services signed up just under 200--5th to 12th grade students as members of the OCYC.  We gave away about 300 hamburgers and 250 hot dogs, 20 cases of soda and ten cases of water, as well as about 600 cases of chips.  The Lewis County Sheriff's office Volunteers gave away over 50 "Chip" kits--which is a kit designed to help parents looking for lost or abducted children, as well as other uses.

It was safe to say that the giant inflatable pirate ship, castle, and slide, brought to us by Bill and Sandy Morris were an enormous hit.  As well as the dunk tank, and the Music provided by Teri and Clark Embum, and Jake Brooks.

We would also like to offer special thanks to Hampton Lumber Affiliates.  With their donation of the Rent, Utilities, and Insurance costs for the OCYC--they have guranteed that the Doors will always be open for our area youth.

Our thanks and praise to God today and everyday for His provision and guidance.  Without Him in our lives none of this would have been possible.  It has only been by His enduring strength and Power, Grace and Mercy, that any of this has been possible.  Please join with us in thanking our sponsors, and those who gave selflessly to ensure that that our area youth has a safe and sober alternative for thier lives.
